Protected by his rich pupils he is still allowed to go on teaching and is finally released into house arrest where he leads the fight to get 30,000 Bedoon people civil rights, the struggle to get his pupils through their exams for college and still manages to run his dance club.The book ends with Nick and a dozen of his girls in an amazing escape across the desert. All this happens to the background of a growing love affair between Nick and an Arab girl, which is Haram (or forbidden) in Kuwait.This funny and poignant faction novel gives a day to day insight into the workings of The Middle East and introduces you the real people who live in the shadow of the terrorists.
